To Know Your Treatment Options / Step 2: Referral & Evaluation

If you reside in Ontario, you will be referred to 1 of Ontario’s 6 transplant hospitals by your physician after you complete a number of tests required (transplant workup). You will then see a number of specialists at the transplant program, who will inform you about different aspects of the transplant process. They will determine if you are suitable for a transplant. If you decide to go ahead with the transplant, you will be placed on a waiting list for a deceased donor transplant.
